The now 3 hr. 30 min.
DVD features industry experts and Certified CEDIA
Instructors Grayson Evans and Mike Cogbill. We call it our
"No New Holes!" course since it demonstrates everything
you'll need to know to retrofit all types of cable and
hardware into existing walls. It is filmed in a "This Old
House" style and starts with installation technique and
tool training in a 2 story framed house in the studio, then
takes you through three complete residential retrofit
wiring projects, each in a different house construction
type.
Part 1 of the course
covers house framing, existing in-wall systems (electrical,
plumbing, gas, A/C, etc.), and retrofit planning. Part 2
covers retrofit installation tools and installation
techniques in our studio retrofit house. This part includes
drill bits, shaft extensions, drill guides, fish rods and
tapes, exploratory tools, retrieval tools, and safety
equipment. It also takes you through the most common
retrofit techniques using the most appropriate tools. Part
3 takes you through three actual retrofit installations.
One in a 1930's two story house in Michigan, a split level
1950's house in Austin, and a 1960's single story house (no
attic, basement, and concrete block construction) in
Tucson.
The course is
supplied with an 85 page workbook.
Successful completion of the course and passing the 50
question course exam entitles the student to 2
CEDIA CEU credits.
